Sam: Still here. So is the chair, I see. It has not moved since the last segment.
Mara: I checked the wheels, the cushion and the little brass plate. Nothing has changed except the squeak, which has grown in confidence.
Sam: Gerald has been very quiet tonight.
Mara: Gerald is a stool. He is entitled to his opinions and he is entitled to keep them to himself.
Sam: I went to the kettle cupboard before you came in. The teaspoon is still there. So is the pen. They look like they have come to an arrangement.
Mara: An arrangement in a cupboard, with no minutes taken. This is how the Shed began.
Sam: I have written it up. It is pinned for the morning crew, under the horse.
Mara: The horse is a stool, Sam. Put that in the minutes too.
Sam: I would not argue with the horse. The stool would not argue with the horse either.
Mara: Fair enough. Keep the lamp on tonight, Sam. Somebody has to watch the pen.
Sam: The lamp is on. I'll be here until the handover, then I'll go quiet in the corner.
Mara: Good night, Sam. The chair will hold the fort.
